HOW TO LAYER SKINCARE
CLEANSER: Start with a gentle cleanser to remove
impurities; choose between a gel cleanser and/or an oil
cleanser.
EXFOLIATOR: When starting out, it's best to exfoliate 1-
2 times per week to allow your skin to adjust.
TONER/ESSENCE: Apply toner to balance the skin’s pH
and optimize absorption for the next steps.
MASK: Typically 1-2x week depending on the mask and
your personal skin needs.
SERUM: Always apply before moisturizer and eye cream

Purging occurs when active ingredients speed up cell turnover, pushing trapped impurities to the surface. This may cause small breakouts in areas where you typically experience congestion. Though it may seem frustrating, it’s temporary and usually lasts between two to six weeks as your skin clears from within. Ingredients like exfoliating acids and retinol are known to trigger this process, but sticking with your routine will allow your skin to fully adjust and reveal a healthier, more radiant complexion.
However, it’s important to differentiate purging from an adverse reaction. A reaction signals irritation or sensitivity and typically appears as redness, itching, burning, or breakouts in new areas where you don’t normally experience acne. Unlike purging, a reaction does not improve over time and may worsen with continued use. If you suspect a reaction, it’s best to discontinue the product and consult with your consultant or an esthetician for guidance.
